TouchBistro is a breakthrough product for the restaurant industry. Instead of servers repeatedly moving between customers and terminals for order management, servers can remain with customers and instantly submit orders to the kitchen and bar. Servers no longer need to write down an order and then enter it into a distant terminal. TouchBistro's single entry system reduces errors and increases efficiency. Menu items can be presented in vibrant color with every detail captured. Menus can be quickly and easily updated and even published to the Web, providing more dynamic impact than a traditional menu can provide.

Reduce Time and Errors for Staff
Take orders correctly the first time! With TouchBistro, servers enter customer orders at the table which are sent directly to the kitchen or bar. No more running back and forth to a distant terminal, because the terminal is always with the server. Every order is associated with an individual seat at the table, and orders are built one customer at a time, just like on paper, but with greater accuracy. Items can also easily be shared by the whole table, moved or modified, and notes and special requests are accommodated. Cost can be allocated to special requests, too!

Table Side Menus
Customers will experience a dynamic menu where food items seem to jump off the screen in vibrant color. No more looking for additional lighting or magnifying glasses! Each item can have a full-screen description and picture which can be viewed with a single touch. Detailed views can be browsed with the swipe of a finger. Customers can order with confidence, having seen clear images and descriptions of each item.

Split Bills with the Drag of a Finger
Many restaurants will not split bills because of the headache it causes for staff. With TouchBistro, having either a single or split bill is no trouble. Since orders are entered by seat, splitting the bill is an inherent part of the program. Even splitting a bill into groups within a table can be easily accommodated, and items (like a shared appetizer or a bottle of wine) can also be split across the whole table.

Custom Floor Layouts
Restaurateurs can quickly and easily lay out the floor plan for their restaurant or work from our templates. Add tables, section dividers and bar stools with the touch of a finger. Move, redesign or change the layout anytime. Once the design is complete, with TouchBistro staff can even combine tables temporarily to accommodate your dynamic environment.

FAQ:

Can I upgrade to Apple's iOS 5?
Answer: Yes! Make sure to backup your iPad before updating to iOS 5. You can restore from your backup once you have updated to the latest iOS 5.

Do I need an internet connection to use your product?
Answer: No! TouchBistro can work as a stand alone system on an internet wireless network.

If my internet goes down does TouchBistro go down?
Answer: No! You can continue to use TouchBistro if your internet goes down.

Is my data backed up on your servers?
Answer: No! All data is on the iPad. However, you can choose to back up your data to your PC or MAC. When iCloud becomes available it will allow you to backup your data to iCloud as well.

Can I backup my TouchBistro data to my iPad?
Answer: YES! You can backup your data to your Mac or PC when ever you want.

If I drop my iPad and it breaks what happens?
Answer: You can restore your data from your last backup on your Mac or PC.

If the power goes down does TouchBistro stop working?
Answer: NO! The iPad can run between 8 to 10 hours on a full charge. We recommend a UPS battery backup on the Airport Extreme router and printers to keep them from losing power.

Does TouchBistro support integrated card swipe?
Answer: Coming Soon! We are working with various payment systems.

What printers do you support?
Answer: Currently we support Star Micronics and HP Airprint printers. We will have Epson very shortly.

Do you support USB printers?
Answer: YES! However they tend to be slower. We recommend ethernet or Airprint compatible printers connected to a router.

Do I have to use an Apple Airport Extreme?
Answer: NO! You can use any wi-fi router, however we only support Apple Airport Extreme routers as a recommended configuration.

Can I print to more than one printer?
Answer: YES! You can assign printers to categories such as the bar, kitchen, as well as individual items can override and go to different printers as well.

Does TouchBistro support employee logging in as well as time charts?
Answer: YES! You can track any employee and edit their time charts or schedules as well.

Where can I buy the hardware in North America, Europe and Asia?
Answer: We can drop ship to anywhere in North America. Call us for a reseller in Asia or Europe.

Can I design my own layout?
Answer: YES! TouchBistro has a table layout editor. You can also import custom background pictures to the iPad

Can I get reports if I am not in the restaurant?
Answer: YES! You can email copies of all the reports from TouchBistro.

Do I have to run ethernet cables to remote locations?
Answer: NO! You can also configure an Apple Airport Extreme or Airport Express as a wi-fi extender and connect the printer to either with a short ethernet cable.
